Our title,
RE(a)D DOT STORIES, proudly encapsulates what the project is about. Read in two ways, it means:
1. RED DOT STORIES, stories from Singapore, the little
red dot on the global map.
2. READ.STORIES, which suggests the reading and understanding of these tales.
Taken together, ohur project hopes to
promote Singapore's own unique myths and legends to the children and through this
encourage them to go on in discovering and exploring these tales.
The first part of our project is a
one day event, set on the 25th April 2009, during which children from various organizations/schools will be coming together to
experience 5 Singaporean myths and legends. Not only will they learn about what the myth was about, they will also participating in shaping it in their own ways.
It promises to be a day of imagination and wonder.
